"The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams" -Oprah
Happy Saturday!! I went into this weekend with pretty much zero plans and it felt great!! We've been SO busy, running everywhere, for the past several months. It was kind of fantastic to wake up this morning without having to be anywhere!! I got up just before 6:00, did my morning meditation, had my tea and then made some oatmeal for breakfast. I washed my dishes, then decided I needed to bring a table and chairs up to Cassie's house(her friend is taking them) because I was sick of them cluttering up the breezeway. So, I loaded it up in the car and headed up to drop it off. Since I was up by Costco, I decided to stop by for some frozen blueberry's for pies. When I got back to Waseca I stopped by Mom and Rick's house because I needed to borrow Mom's sheet for rolling pie crusts. Christa also stopped there, so we all wasted hours just sitting and visiting. She didn't even make us lunch, she was like "I'm too busy, I haven't been to the store to buy groceries.." All heard was, "I don't love you".... hehehe:) Christa did bring a loaf of bread and baked it there, so she at least provided us with some sustenance! She did set the smoke alarm off and Otis became terrified and just wanted me to hold him, which is HIGHLY unusual because typically he just wants to bite my face off! Christa had to snap a picture to prove that Otis really does love me:)
Once I FINALLY made my way back home, I made 2 homemade blueberry pies! While I've made millions of homemade apple pies with Mom and Christa, I've never made pie by myself, and Mom is the one who always makes the crusts. But, I volunteered to bring pie to Thanksgiving, so it was time for me to learn. Carey said he wanted blueberry pie, so I made one for us to eat now and taste before I feed it to others, and one to put in the freezer to make for Thanksgiving(Pending the taste of the first one...) I also made 2 pie crusts to make pumpkin pies on Wednesday night.

Christa makes homemade Cranberry juice and it's DELICOUS! Since she said it's super easy to make, I felt I should make some too! I canned 7 quarts of it between making pies! I'm excited to try it, but it has to sit for 4 weeks before it's ready! Eli was starved all day since I wasn't home to feed him, so he requested waffles for dinner. Carey and Liam were out hunting and Josie was at her dads, so waffles seemed like a perfect dinner to enjoy:)
Also, I've read everywhere, if your canner isn't tall enough and boils water EVERYWHERE, it's best if you place towels all over the hot stove and oven. It's completely safe and not a fire hazard at all, all the experts do it.
Have a fantastic rest of the weekend!! I'm excited for another day of no plans tomorrow!!
Peace out,
Amy
